Photo Eats
The client for this site wanted to combine his two of his favorite passions: photography and eating. Photo Eats allows users to upload photos of their meals along with a review, a rating, and mapping information to help others find the restaurant. Other users can leave comments and ratings of their own. Flickr integration allows members with existing uploaded photography to import those shots.
The company identity, site design, and development was handled completely by Black Ant Media. We designed the logo, all of the visual elements, and the information architecture. The backend was built in Ruby on Rails and includes geocoding of photographs and a private messaging system.
Ingredients: Ruby on Rails, MySQL, XHTML, CSS, Javascript, and extensive AJAX.
